First Year Around the Sun Birthday

I honestly love every party I do.

More than expressing my style, I welcome the challenge to take someone’s vision and turn it into reality.

Sometimes though, I get a client who wants to try something that I’ve been eager to do and that’s so fun!

This is what I live for LOL

Meet my dear client Jennie and her son Lorenzo!

She’s a beautiful mom of 2 (one son and one daughter). I had the pleasure of meeting this amazing family when I decorated for their mother’s 50th birthday. Details of this lovely party another day.

The concept & color palette

His mom had the sweetest idea for a “first trip around the sun” theme.

Check out the invitation she made!

For Lorenzo’s birthday, she wanted a painted backdrop that reflected the invitation.

It was minimal, abstract, with a hint of boho. Everything that I love!

Here is the painting in progress

We were going for a more brushed and textured look. Notice the beige half circle? Such cute detail.

Finishing Touches

To add some boho flair, I added some pampas grass in a taupe vase. I also placed a couple of palm fronds in a terracotta vase that I painted.

Add in a vintage highchair… and done!

Check out the birthday boy!

How cute are the photos! Guess who took them?

Me! One thing that I have been doing for my clients is to simply bring my camera.

I’ve been trying to learn over the past few years. Do you want to to know why? I guess it boils down to 2 things:

  1. There is nothing worse than creating a beautiful party and having no photos of it (so sad)

  2. I’m also a mom. Since I take a billion pictures anyway, why not amp my game?

So if I ever do a party, I always take pleasure in bringing my camera and perfecting that craft. Why not bless my clients in that process?

A mother’s love

Jennie on having baby # 2

“ I spent my whole pregnancy with Lorenzo afraid I wasn’t going to be able to love him and his big sister. As soon as he was born it was like the grace I needed filled my heart and expanded my capacity to love. Not taking love away from my first born but added to love and raise them both. ”

Celebrating the first birthday for baby #2 is such a milestone.

I remember how “fun” it was. LOL. You not only survived one child but now two! Not only that, it is just as Jennie said.

You also receive the grace to love and raise two children.

That’s why it is always such an honor to witness other people reach moments like these and and to also help them make it special.
