Romantic Floral First Birthday

I was so honored to be a part of this first birthday celebration because it was for the daughter of a dear baker friend, Paula.

I found this talented woman just scrolling through Instagram one day and I just had to work with her! If you didn’t know already, I’m always looking to collab and just support other small businesses - especially women! And especially mamas!

Click here for her Insta and here’s some shots of the beautiful cakes she’s done for my events.

Fun Fact:

She and her family are very insta-famous bakers! Their bakery has won many awards and competitions!

Show them some love on their instagram here.

Meet Adorable Paulina

When I first met Paula, I was so amazed to meet a fellow mom and small business owner. You could tell that she loved her daughter just as much as she loved her craft.

Paula recalled that when Paulina’s “1st Birthday came (with covid-19 as a main guest), I just wanted to celebrate with my closest people, my family, people who are part of her development and give her as much love as she needs.”

We were determined to make Paulina’s first birthday special and we had fun in the process!

Concept

For this design, it was truly a collaborative effort.

Romantic & Floral. Enough said.

Flowers were important but we also wanted a LOT of greenery to really set that romantic garden feel.

Balloons

The color palette was shades of pink with a hint of peach. Check out those mauves and blushes! Guess who did the balloon arch?! Paula! She could seriously do balloons professionally if she wanted to. Not only is she a baker, she is actually an engineer by trader. This girl can do anything!

Florals

The florals were mostly shades of white and pink. It was bright and airy but not too bold so that the greenery was the star of the show.

Finishing Touches

To finish it off, we added a “one” acrylic sign with gold vinyl, a chandelier, pink draping and a few gold birdcages. And we can’t forget the vintage highchair!

If you want to further transform your space for photos, I really recommend rugs!

The Cake

Here’s Paula on making her daughter’s amazing cake:

“All I have to say is that... as a new mother and cake designer, I couldn’t wait to celebrate my princess 1st birthday and make a cake as big as I could. Then, you realize how important and exciting is to enjoy and experience every milestone she reaches, these started to fill my heart with pure love and that was it, I’m so grateful I still have the opportunity to be part of her daily life!”

Aren’t they so gorgeous!

My heart goes out to the mamas that are still trying to celebrate their children despite the circumstances. I even speak for myself. All 4 of my kids’ birthdays still came whether I wanted it to or not. LOL. It’s hard! How do you include all the special people in your child’s life and still be safe?

Long story short, it is possible!

“It was small but special, and of course so happy and blessed of having Jaqie helping me with my crazy ideas 😍. We made it! And she definitely had fun.”

I was so honored to be a part of Paula and her family’s special day.

Thanks for tuning in!
