Twinkle Twinkle At-Home Baby Shower

This baby shower was very special. I’ve mentioned this before but I have a heart for mothers. Especially mothers to be. And especially during a pandemic!

Meet the beautiful mama Kim and her husband.

“ I am Kim and have been married to my husband Mike for 2 years. This was a baby shower for our first child. We did not know the gender. It was an interesting time to get pregnant and have a shower as we are in a pandemic. We found out we were pregnant 6 Months after my mom passed away and right before fathers day 2020. ”

This shower was more than an ordinary event. It was about family coming together to celebrate life. Knowing that Kim was celebrating this day without her mother, I knew we had to make it that more magical.

For this baby shower, they wanted a twinkle twinkle theme with a pastel green and gray twist. To match their nursery. How cute is that?

Check out the custom acrylic sign!

I used gold vinyl and a simple yet elegant font called “Magenta”

The Cake

This dreamy cake was made by an amazing baker by the name of Rachel from Hangry Girl Cakes.

The details on this twinkle cake were so on point and with just the right amount of green. Check her out here.

Tying It All Together

I added this amazing moon piece I found at Homegoods.

I also used white calla lillies and eucalyptus for a touch of fresh florals.

The Story Behind the Bear

The teddy bear was actually made from a dress that Kim’s mom used to wear! The inscription says:

This is something I used to wear

whenever you hug me know that I’m there

This was such a thoughtful gift from her sister in law, Carly, who actually helped plan her shower. She had these made for her family and got it from Etsy. You can check out the shop here.

Baby Showers and Family in 2021

It is definitely humbling when I hear families come together during tough times. And to hear that Kim enjoyed her shower, despite the circumstances, is just such breath of fresh air.

“ My sister in law (Carly) went above and beyond to make this day special as we could not have guests and bc my mom was not there. She put a lot of thought into making it entertaining for the guests and very special for my husband and me, while still including our family and friends (virtually that is).”

All respect to all the pregnant mamas out there!

Kim states that, “navigating such a huge life change is hard enough to begin with. Add in a global health crisis and all of the unknowns. You've got yourself quite a rollercoaster of emotions!”

I’m so glad to have met this amazing woman and her husband. Her father was also such a delight. They all had to overcome so much during this pandemic. Nothing like putting together a party to wow your client only to be wowed yourself.

Kim has some advice for people celebrating during this time:

“Even though things look different right now, that doesn't mean you can't still celebrate. So you didn't have a traditional shower. So what? It can still be fun and be different at the same time! Take the time to appreciate your growing family ❤”
